Lisa Brainard, Esq. is a multifaceted professional whose unique blend of artistic, legal, and business acumen makes her an invaluable Managing Partner for DGEM (Diapason Global Education for Music). Her journey began at the young age of 17 on the Las Vegas Strip, where she captivated audiences with her impressive four-octave vocal range and diverse repertoire spanning opera, funk, country, and beyond. This early immersion in the world of performance instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of music to transcend boundaries and connect with people from all walks of life. Her talent was formally recognized with a superior rating at the State of Nevada Solo & Ensemble Competition, where she was honored with the “Command Performance” rating for her opera solo. Growing up in a military family, Lisa’s exposure to diverse cultures and musical genres during her travels across Europe, Asia, and the United States further broadened her musical horizons and understanding of global perspectives.

Lisa’s passion for music extends beyond performance. She is also a skilled songwriter, collaborating with a wide range of artists and musicians. Her experience as a female minority artist in the music industry instilled in her the importance of understanding the business and legal aspects of creative endeavors. This realization led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business management, followed by a Juris Doctor from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Nevada, California, and most notably, before the United States Supreme Court. Her legal career has included serving as a Justice Court Judge and an Attorney on the Nevada Supreme Court, demonstrating her commitment to justice and her deep understanding of legal frameworks.

Lisa’s combined experience as an artist, businesswoman, and legal professional provides her with a unique perspective that is essential to DGEM’s success. She possesses the ability to navigate the complexities of the music industry while advocating for the rights of artists and ensuring the sustainability of DGEM’s mission. Her understanding of intellectual property law is particularly valuable in protecting the creative works of musicians and instrument inventors documented by DGEM. Her business acumen enables her to develop strategic partnerships and secure funding to support DGEM’s global initiatives.

Lisa’s fluency in both Japanese and English, coupled with her diverse cultural experiences, allows her to connect with individuals from around the world and foster cross-cultural understanding. Her passion for music education and her commitment to making it accessible to all, particularly in underserved communities, aligns perfectly with DGEM’s vision.
