Latin-Asian Fusion: A Global Musical Dialogue

What would traditional Chinese music sound like with Caribbean percussion?

In May, DGEM’s concert showcased a spellbinding tapestry of sound, artfully blending Chinese melodies with Caribbean rhythms, highlighting the beauty of cultural exchange. Ancient Chinese instruments danced alongside Latin folk, as Felle Vega and Hong Wang unveiled their own crafted creations, with special guest musician, musicologist, and President of the non-profit organization DGEM, pianist Damaris Morales. This vibrant fusion captivated audiences, leaving them enchanted and yearning for more. Discover the magic of music education at DGEM.org.

Our story

How we work

Our story

DGEM is the seed that germinated from the TV docu-series “Diapason… Sounds of the world.” The TV documentary came out of the passion for music and the simple curiosity to know the different cultures of the world through their music. Over the expansion of ten years the idea has successfully manifested into a hands-on project through concerts, workshops, and interviews.
